What is Forum?
Forum is an innovative decision-making platform that combines conversational AI with personality assessment. It’s designed to help you explore your thinking styles across different life domains and understand how your personality “expresses itself” differently depending on what you’re trying to decide.
The core insight: personality isn’t uniform. You might approach investment decisions analytically while engaging with climate policy discussions emotionally. Forum measures these variations through its unique Cognitive Expression Profile (CEP) system—a domain-specific personality measurement that captures how your thinking style shifts across different topics.
Why This Matters
Traditional personality tests measure you once, in a generic way. But how you think when planning retirement is different from how you think when discussing ethics, which is different from how you think when choosing a movie.
Forum captures that variation. By having conversations about real topics you care about—or by answering domain-specific personality surveys—you build a picture of your thinking style in context. Then you can compare profiles across domains to discover patterns: maybe you’re more agreeable when discussing relationships but more competitive when discussing finances. Maybe your openness peaks in creative domains but drops in technical ones.
How It Works
- Have conversations about topics you’re exploring or questions you’re wrestling with
- Get assessments of your personality from either analyzing those conversations or taking targeted surveys
- Compare your profiles across domains to see how your thinking style shifts
- Understand yourself and make more informed decisions by knowing your default patterns
The platform is built on rigorous personality psychology but applies it in a novel way—measuring personality within specific life contexts rather than treating it as a static global trait.
