Claude connector

This page covers connecting Forum to Claude. For what a connection is, the permissions you control and how your data is handled, see Connect your AI.

Before you start

  • A Forum account with a verified email and connector access enabled (see Before you start).
  • A Claude plan that supports custom connectors.

Connect

  1. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.

  2. Enter the Forum connector address:

    https://forum.conical.tech/mcp

  3. Select Connect. You are taken to Forum to sign in.

  4. Review the consent screen and select Allow. See What you control.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization Owner adds the connector, and each member then connects with their own Forum account. Each person only ever sees their own record.

What you can ask

Just talk to Claude. Claude decides when your record is relevant, and only uses it when your history would change the answer.

  • “What did I decide about moving teams, and did I change my mind since?”
  • “Given how I work, how should I approach this negotiation?”
  • “What do I usually value when I choose between two jobs?”
  • “Remember that I value autonomy over salary.”
  • “Save this conversation to my record.”
  • “Let’s tidy up my record.” Claude then walks you through uncertain beliefs one at a time.

Claude asks before it changes anything. Tools that add or change data are labeled as such, so Claude prompts you rather than running them silently, and it only writes when you ask or after offering once and getting a yes.

Disconnect

In Forum, go to Account → Connected apps and disconnect. You can also remove the connector from Customize → Connectors in Claude.

Troubleshooting

Start with the troubleshooting table. If Claude reports it cannot reach the connector, check that the address is exactly https://forum.conical.tech/mcp and try connecting again.
