Connect your AI

Forum builds a working model of how you think: the beliefs you have stated, the domains you have explored, and how you tend to approach decisions. A connection lets an AI assistant use that record, so its advice fits you instead of being generic.

Connections use MCP, an open standard for giving AI assistants access to tools and data. Forum’s connector address is:

Before you start

A Forum account with a verified email.
Connector access enabled on your account. Connecting apps is being rolled out gradually, so it is switched on per account. If you see “This account cannot authorize connected apps” when you connect, email contact@conical-tech.com and we will enable it. To ask for access, see Get connector access.

What you control

When you connect, Forum shows a consent screen where you choose:

Read your record: the assistant can look up your beliefs, insights, conversations and daily wrap-ups.
Add to your record: the assistant can save a belief, journal entry or conversation, and confirm, revise or retract beliefs. Untick this for a read-only connection.
Which domains: all of your domains, or only the domains you pick. A domain-limited connection cannot see your cross-domain profile or daily wrap-ups, cannot save free-form entries or conversations, and only reads and writes beliefs, conversations and insights in the domains you chose.

Tools the assistant does not have permission to use are simply not offered to it. To change permissions or domains, disconnect and connect again.

How your data is handled

Questions and content the assistant passes to Forum are sent to Forum and stored in your account.
Forum uses Google’s Gemini models to answer questions about your record and to extract beliefs from saved conversations.
Assistants never receive raw personality scores. Results are described in words, and the assistant is asked to say whether something was stated by you or inferred. Stated beliefs outrank inferred ones.
Saved conversations and entries are analyzed in the background, so new beliefs and domains appear within a minute or two.

Disconnect

Go to Account → Connected apps in Forum and disconnect the app. It takes effect immediately and deletes the app’s refresh credentials. You can also remove the connector in the assistant itself.

Troubleshooting

Problem	What to do
”This account cannot authorize connected apps”	Connector access is not enabled for your account yet. Email contact@conical-tech.com.
The assistant says it could not find a domain	It guessed a name. Ask it to list your domains first and retry.
Nothing is returned from your record	Nothing is recorded yet for that topic. Have a conversation or write a journal entry in Forum first.
A tool you expect is missing	You granted limited access. Disconnect and reconnect with the permissions you want.
A saved conversation is not showing up	Analysis runs in the background. Wait a minute or two and ask again.
