Conversation Management

The Manage Conversations view provides a central dashboard for all your conversations across all domains.

The Conversations Dashboard

The dashboard displays a comprehensive table showing:

  • Goal — The summarized objective of each conversation (what you were exploring)
  • Domain(s) — Which domain or domains the conversation belongs to (conversations can span multiple domains)
  • Date Created — When you started the conversation
  • Turn Count — How many exchanges occurred (user message + AI response = 1 turn)
  • Status — Current state: Active, Ended, or Abandoned
  • Actions — Buttons for View, Analyze, Archive, and other operations

Filtering and Organizing

You can filter conversations by:

  • Domain — Show conversations in a specific domain only
  • Status — Show only Active, Ended, or Abandoned conversations
  • Date Range — Find conversations from a specific time period

Actions

For each conversation, you can:

  • View — Reopen the full conversation transcript to read or continue the dialogue
  • Analyze — Generate a Cognitive Expression Profile (CEP) from the conversation (if it has enough substantive dialogue)
  • Archive — Move the conversation out of your active list without deleting it (data is preserved)
  • Delete — Permanently remove the conversation (use with care)
  • Reassign Domain — Move a conversation to a different domain if the inference was incorrect

Export and Import

Conical supports data portability:

  • Export — Download your conversations as structured data (JSON or CSV format) for external analysis, research, or integration with other tools
  • Import — Upload conversation data from external sources to include in your Conical profile

This is particularly useful if you want to:

  • Archive conversations for external research
  • Integrate with the evaluation harness (for platform testing or research)
  • Back up your data
  • Analyze conversations using your own tools

Best Practices

  • Review conversations regularly — Understanding patterns in what you explore helps with self-awareness
  • Archive completed conversations — Keeps your Active list focused on ongoing work
  • Take notes — Use conversation titles and domain assignments to make patterns clear when reviewing later
  • Export periodically — Maintain external backups of your conversation data
