Domains
A domain is a topic or area of life where you’re making decisions or exploring ideas. Conical organizes conversations and personality assessments by domain because personality isn’t uniform—how you think about finances is different from how you think about relationships.
Predefined Domains
Conical includes 10+ domains covering common life decision areas:
- Cultural Impact
- Movie Analysis
- Shoe Selection
- Portfolio Rebalancing
- Renting Versus Buying
- Real Estate Decisions
- Climate Change Strategy
- Tax Preparation
- Investment Selection
- Pet Selection
- Ethical Investing
When you start a conversation, the system automatically infers which domain it belongs to based on what you describe. You can also manually reassign conversations to different domains later.
How Domains Work
Each domain maintains its own separate collection of:
- Conversations you’ve had
- Assessments (CEP scores) you’ve completed
- Historical data about how your thinking has evolved in that specific area
Domain Pages
When you click on a domain, you see three tabs:
-
Conversations Tab
- Button to start a new conversation in that domain
- List of active (Live) conversations
- List of completed conversations showing title, turn count, date, and action buttons
- Action buttons: View, Analyze (generate/view CEP), Archive
-
Assessments Tab
- Your completed CEP assessments in that domain
- Assessment dates and scores
- Historical progression of your profile over time
-
Compare Tab
- Quick access to domain comparison tools
- See how your personality in this domain compares to other domains
Why Domains Matter
Domains exist because context changes how you think. You might be:
- Highly analytical when discussing 401k rebalancing
- More emotionally engaged when discussing family decisions
- More open to new ideas in creative domains
- More conscientious in financial domains
By measuring your CEP separately in each domain, Conical captures how your thinking style varies across different parts of your life.
